Niko groaned as she slid out of her bed and into the cold of her room. It was so warm there. She turned and looked behind her at the small figure laying nearly where she was laying. It opened its cat eyes and looked at her, stretched and then walked the 5 or so inches from where it lay to where she had. It purred softly and lay where her warmth lingered, purring more as it fell softly back into blissful slumber. Niko narrowed her eyes at her kitten. "Lucky." She muttered to it, though she knew Cleo would not hear her, she was asleep already. She sighed and walked into the bathroom on the side of her room to take a shower. She allowed the hot water to rush over her as she bathed, trying to work out the cold that seemed embedded in her from the moment she arrived. She hated the cold.
When her shower was finished she walked over to her closet and looked through it. She sighed and settled on a pair of dark wash denim jeans and a form fitting black long sleeved shirt. Both new and both still with tags on them. She ripped off the tags and slid them on, she never needed anything like this in Sacramento. She sighed and pulled a brush through her hair and put it up, a few of her wavy strands sliding into her face as usual. She slid on her socks and walked over to her bed. She pulled her blankets back to where they were, making her bed over the sleeping Cleo, like she did every morning. She then proceeded downstairs.
As Niko walked downstairs she could smell the eggs and bacon. She fit her stomach growl and she smiled, at least she would eat something good before hell took her. She sat at one of the stools in the -kitchen- and watched her mother cook. She didn't say anything when her mom put the plate in front of her and neither did her mom. She ate in silence as did her mother before heading to the sink to wash her dish. Things were more solemn without her father around. Her mother was so serious, partially why Niko had grown to be that way. She walked into the living room and put on her sneakers before grabbing her -wool coat- and walking out the door with her mother, grabbing her bag before she did.
Her mother drove her to school and then left. Niko was grounded from her motorcycle for a week because of her little stunt the previous day. She sighed softly and walked into the office to get her schedule. She nodded to the woman and went to put her things in her locker before walking to her first class. People stared at her and she knew right away they knew who she was. Niko could care less. She turned to the class and walked down the aisle to her seat without a word to the teacher. No, she would not tell people about herself in front of the class. Yes, the teacher could read that in her eyes. She sat at her seat and looked down at the book she was given, turning to the page and reading as the teacher spoke. God she hated it here...

Serphina yawned and pulled the covers off of her so as to get out of bed and not fall on the floor. She picked up her phone that was still hooked up to its charger and saw the time read 7:00 a.m. She hoped her first day of school here didn’t go too bad as she thought it would. Sighing, she hopped out of bed and stretched her muscles in her body after a long night’s sleep. Once she did that she walked over to her closet and opened it up. Her eyes skimmed the clothes located inside and grabbed a pair of dark denim blue jeans and a navy blue quarter length sleeved shirt with small black hearts over it.
Looking around her room she decided she might need to decorate the place a bit more. It was still plain and she didn’t like plain. It was too boring. Well there was nothing she could do about it now. It would have to wait until the weekend when she might have free time. She snapped out of her thoughts and walked into her bathroom and turned the showerhead on. She then grabbed a towel out of the cabinet on the right side of the room and laid it down with her clothes. Once the shower was hot enough for her liking, she stepped in. She knew she had school, but did enjoy her showers. She would have to much it quick, it was already past 7.
As soon as she shampooed her hair and washed off, she turned off the showerhead and grabbed the towel from the sink and wrapped it around her body. She stepped out of the shower and dried off with her towel and took the clothes from the sink. Sera quickly got dressed and squeezed the water out of her hair. Looking around for the hairbrush she hastily brushed through the tangles from the wetness and walked out into her room and put on a pair of black flats. Then she walked back into the bathroom and plugged the blow dryer into the electrical outlet and ran her hand through her hair, so as to make it dry faster. As soon as her hair was dry enough for her she put it back into the cabinet where the towels were also located. Then she walked into her small kitchen.
Grabbing a glass from the cabinet above the counter she poured some orange juice into the glass. She walked around with the glass in hand and skimmed the kitchen making sure her school things were all in the right place. Seeing that they were she drank her OJ, relaxed for a moment and gulped down the last sip. She went to the sink and washed out the glass and left it in the sink. Sera then went to her messenger bag which was located in the kitchen in a chair and took her lip gloss and eyeliner out of the bag. She applied the lip gloss first and then slowly the eyeliner, so she wouldn’t miss it up. Once that was done she slung the messenger bag over her shoulder which had all her things in it. Grabbing her keychain which had the house keys on it she went out the door, locking it as she went.
Sera did have her license, but no car with her. She preferred to walk anyway so it didn’t matter. It was healthier and safe for the environment that way. She walked a fast pace because she didn’t want to be late on her first day. Seeing the school in view she picked up her pace and saw some kids her age walking into the school building. She made it into the parking lot and followed all the kids into the building and looked around for the office. Once she found it she went inside and explained to the secretary that she was new and got a schedule and her locker number. Sera smiled and thanked her and looked at her first class which was English. She roamed around the school until she found her class and handed the teacher the note that she was new. Sera’s eyes scanned the room for an empty desk and found one in the middle of the room and took her messenger bag off her shoulder and leaned it up against her desk. She glanced around nervously, feeling some people’s eyes on her already. She really hoped this went well.
