Fever - till you sizzle, what a lovely way to burn. What a lovely way to burn. What a lovely way to burn.
Her feet trudged the cool sand, the sand heating up to fit her own needs with every step, but only slightly so whomever decided to follow her would probably wonder why the sand in that specific spot was so warm but the rest was so chilly. Her lightly acid washed jeans hugged her body warmly but the brunette made no attempt to close her jacket closer around her, just increasing her body heat to an extent that if she was to use a thermometer at that moment, it would appear she had a high fever. The sand was nice against her feet, and no matter that the ocean was deadly to her, she loved the sight, loved the feel of and beneath her toes, the smell of the ocean breeze and the gentle sounds of the waves. Her brown hair was up today, a few strands of her coming down to frame her peaceful face. It was about six thirty or seven, the girl wasn't really sure and wasn't that worried anyways. Either way Nathanial would probably come looking for her. Even after more than a half a dozen years, he still felt the urge to watch over her and make sure she would be fine. Her fingers found the necklace around her neck. It had large red beads with a simple shell at the end. She loved the shell, it was form this beach, a simple birthday present to her on her twelfth birthday, the year she was ‘adopted’ into the Creed’s family. But it had meant more to her than they had realised. Under her simple off white blazer was a sweet grey lined top with thin straps. Under that she had the specially designed undergarments that had been given to her if she ever lost control or needed a quick exit. She didn't like to fly or speed off somewhere, since it ruined the clothes she was in. But at the moment she was watching the sunset, and the gorgeous red, orange and yellows that came from it. It didn't matter that when she was ten she had been taken away from her family, for the good of herself and her family, and filled with different drugs and experiments, her being an experiment all on her own. She still couldn’t get the feeling of floating in the waves out of her, but those days were few and far in between. In hand, Suzynn had brought the usual notebook with pencil in a large brown purse, those two items being something she never left without. Also with her was her cell phone, her wallet, identification and anything else fake she needed. Of course after the few years taken away, everything changed, even her name, but it had been so long that she had almost completely forgotten it. The brunette felt the faint idea of her name push at her, and the name ‘Rebecca’ echoed in her mind. She had been renamed Suzynn, after the Persian name for burning fire. It seemed proper, not to mention her middle name meaning peaceful, which a scientist who had grown accustomed to the girl had named her, seeing as Suzynn, then Rebecca, was always calm and peaceful over everything that had happened to her. But now, now her life was completely different. She lived with a house full of vampires, not all of them completely trustworthy or have good intentions. She did have other friends, but she didn't have another family, so this one was her only one.

You're almost gone and I'm okay. I still see your shadow. To give you time to be afraid. But never your face again. Jon's feet made next to no sound as he strode briskly through town, cutting a dark swathe through the pastel colours of the people who were out and about. Dressed in a pair of black acid-washed jeans and a button up black shirt (the top two buttons of which were undone, and the sleeves of which were rolled up to the elbows), he didn't exactly look celebrant. Nonetheless, they created a striking contrast with his near translucently pale skin and brought out in all the more detail his enhanced vampire musculature. People definitely seemed to notice, to say the least. Males veered left and right, seemingly unaware of the fact that they were self-steering themselves so as to give him a wide berth, whereas from females he received appraising looks. It could have been attributed to the fact that his eyes were looking slightly out of ordinary- after all, his eyes had the faint purplish circles beneath them now, and his irises were exceptionally dark, a sure sign that he had not eaten in quite a while. That was, at least, what he had decided was probably it. Forks was unusually crowded today, despite the fact that it was fortuitously overcast outdoors, as per normal. He wasn't quite sure if he liked the amount of activity, considering he hadn't eaten in a week or two now. Of course, the lure of human blood which was so hard for some vampires to resist was not so bad for him- if his 149 years had taught him anything, it was that to uphold promises was crucial and necessary, and even if he had promised to nobody but himself that he would abstain from drinking human blood, he was extremely controlled about it. The glances he was receiving, though, reminded him that he really needed to feed, and soon- just for the sake of appearances, if nothing else. This thought in mind, he ducked around a corner and made for the forest- another advantage of living on the Olympic Peninsula was that there were trees everywhere and thus, lots of cover. He broke into a run, fast, graceful and dangerous, and had no trouble in locating a large, lone elk within minutes. He was nowhere near as attuned to scent as a tracker, but he managed. Hunting was something that was not only necessary for food, but, in Jon's case, exhilarating too. It was hard for him to get excited about anything now that he could do...well...just about anything, but the hunt never got tired. Jon struck quickly- he owed that to the animal, and prolonging suffering was not going to achieve anything. It was all over swiftly, and as his 'fangs' (for lack of a better word) retracted, he stood, eyes a liquid gold once more, shadows banished. Yes, he was in considerably brighter spirits now that his hunger had been assuaged. Happy enough to risk a venture into La Push- not onto the Quileute reservation, because the vampire/werewolf laws of land had to remain inviolate, but onto a neutral part of the beach which he'd been meaning to suss out anyway. If a werewolf showed up, which was unlikely, he could justify himself with ease, and if that wasn't enough, then he would feel no qualms about doing 'something'. He sped there, unafraid of being seen because everyone seemed to be in town, if anywhere, anyway. As he'd guessed, the beach was deserted- with the exception of one person. A person whom he recognized quite well. Smile falling easily onto his face now (much easier than it would have a few minutes ago before feeding), he jogged at a human pace to her, one eyebrow raised rakishly as he regarded her laid-back demeanor. "Suzynn," he greeted her by name, nodding at the Creed girl. "What mischief are you getting into by yourself here? I thought you'd be laden down with those vampire minders of yours." He was joking, and the wink from his gleaming topaz left eye supported this. [[Bad post, sorreh Dovey.]]

[*Snicker* I out crapped you]
Her fingers sparked a bit as she sighed, the ocean was so close to her and yet, it was the last thing she would touch tonight or probably any other night unless she wanted to have her cold wet body dragged out by some hungry crows. Which, in retrospect, probably wasn't the best thing to think of now before she went home to eat something. She hadn’t really had much before she left for a walk, just a granola bar and a few matches. And now she had run out of matches recently and she still needed Daniella to go buy her a few more lighters, since her stash had ran out only recently. Nobody else really liked to buy her the lighters, since heat wasn't something most vampires enjoyed about her. Her fingers sparkled with a small flame at the thought but were swiftly blown out by the wind. With every bit of fire that she used it made her hungrier, well this time, the feeling of hunger was increasing since she hadn’t bothered to eat in some while. Looking around, just some softwood could be found, but she didn't feel the need to get up and get it yet.
Her extremities, which included fingers, toes and the surface of her skin, tingled as she felt a presence of heat close by, or coming closer. She couldn’t make it out to be a certain person yet, but they were moving at incredible speed after another smaller heat source. And then suddenly, the second heat source lowered exponentially and her nose crinkled because now she knew it had to be a vampire or werewolf, and if it was a vamp it had to be a Cullen, or Jon. Jon wasn't unlike the other two vampire families seeing as he also did his best to only drink animal blood but he wasn't really part of the Cullen family, though he was closer to the Cullen family then her Creeds. It wasn't like a surprise or anything; she knew her family could be a bit harsh, seeing as they didn't go for the vegetarian way of life all the time, or at all. It had been a barely there feeling, seeing as she hadn’t been trying to follow the body heat, but this time she tried harder, and in her mind’s eye she could see the limbs, the body and where the most blood was being pumped to.
They were taller, obviously a vampire, but he seemed taller than any Cullen she knew, than again she didn't know many Cullen’s. Her eyes watched for where her new companion would come out from and spotted Jonathan Ainsley, a new vampire to the town that didn't belong to either families, but at the same time a close friend to her. Suzynn’s eyes twinkled with a small spark, as they usually did when around friends. Grinning she wiggled her fingers and one of the pieces of softwood floated over, burning on fire and her hand grabbed on, letting it burn underneath her until it was just ash as she commented back. “Well, at the moment I guess I’ve been hiding from Nathaniel. I only saw Sylvia on my way out and she doesn’t really care where I go.” Giving a small shrug, the brunette perked for a moment. “You don’t have a lighter on you do you? I’ve seemed to have run out and I haven’t been able to catch Daniella today.” It seemed to amuse her whenever she spoke of her sister Dani in such a way, seeing as it made it sound like she was her druggie. “Well, other than just having a bit of a snack, I’m enjoying the ocean scenery. And you? Was your snack appetizing?” Her eyes twinkling more now with her own tease back.

As he drew closer to Suzynn, Jonathan realized that she had, in fact, been aware of his approach. This amused him a little, but it also irked him slightly that she had a means to detect when and from where he was coming, something that obviously very few, if no other humans could do. It ruined the element of surprise a little bit, which, while it was unnecessary seeing as he didn't hunt mankind, was always of amusement to the oftentimes cheeky vampire. Suzynn could hardly be blamed for her ability to sense heat, however, and on top of that, she was a good friend, so he kept his boyish grin in place as he noted the spark aflame in her eyes. He watched impassively, but slightly curiously, as she set a piece of softwood aflame in some attempt to warm herself, or something. "Hiding from Nathaniel, eh? Well, I don't blame you for that one, though you mightn't want to tell him I said that. I have the feeling that insulting a vampire I haven't officially 'met' yet might not make him too well inclined towards me." His forehead creased a little at the mention of Sylvia- something about the rather malicious seeming, albeit beautiful vampire didn't seem quite right, but he refrained from commenting.
He gave a small grimace of distaste at the mention of a lighter- it seemed that, by some kind of rule of thumb, his kind weren't too fond of flame, considering what it did to people. Then again, it was surprising the amount of women who asked him if he had a lighter on him, so he'd gained the habit over the years of having one handy. "As a matter of fact, I do. Lucky for you." Chivalrously, he pulled it out of his pocket and offered it to her, flicking his thumb twice. Once to get the silver cap off of the top, and the second time to cause the flame to sputter out of the lighter. "Satisfactory?" He gave a small smirk at the mention of Daniella, Suzynn's words making it sound like the other vampire was her own personal supplier of lighters or something. "Ah, the ocean," Jon stated, instantly transported by the thought of the sea. He was just like any other sailor when the expanse of water was laid bare in front of him. Not a nobleman when he'd been alive, and not a vampire now that he was dead. Just a sailor, and he loved that. Something about the freedom had always captured him, as contradictory as that sounded. "It's been a long time since I've been to sea," he mused, looking at her with some amusement in his eyes.
She probably hated the sea, what with her talent for fire and all. "I enjoy the ocean scenery too," he finally told her, though his behaviour of a few moments ago obviously supported that. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye as she mentioned his snack, a sly smile on his face. "No, animals are never appetizing, but what can you do? It's food. And now I'm in a considerably brightened mood as a result of it, so it's really quite good."
